Mt. Pisgah SUP / Run Duathlon: May 28, 2012

The Mt. Pisgah SUP/Run Duathlon challenge has been set for Memorial Day
When: Memorial Day, May 28, 2012
Time: 9:00am – 11:00am (arrive by 8:30am for registration)
Distance: 1.5 Mile Paddle, 1 Mile Run (with steps), 1.5 Mile Paddle
Where: Holland State Park. Start will be at South end of beach near pier. If the morning consists of high winds and waves, the start and all paddling will be taken place on Lake Macatawa. The alternative start will be at Holland State Park (HSP) Lake Macatawa Beach (this is where the GLSC race was held – across from State Park camp ground).
Who and Why? Everyone who owns a SUP! Because we love SUP and want to paddle with others. Come out to get some early morning exercise.
Cost: No Cost! No Prizes! Timing will be kept for those wanting to know their place.
Course: PADDLE- Start paddling at HSP, round the pier into the channel, continue through channel, paddle past Coast Guard Station to HSP Lake Macatawa Beach, exit board. RUN- beach to bike path, turn at Mt. Pisgah trail head, run stairs to the top platform, return back to beach. PADDLE- paddle return route back to start of race at HSP.
Afterwards: Participants and their families are invited to a pancake breakfast on the beach.

3rd Annual Great Lakes SUP Classic: July 20-21, 2012

The Outpost of Holland presents the 3rd Annual Great Lakes Stand Up Paddling (SUP) Classic on Saturday, July 21, 2012. The race will again be part of the Midwest SUP Championship Series.

The Great Lakes SUP Classic will be one of the races that are part of the Midwest SUP Championship Series. The top racers will qualify for the World Paddle Association (WPA) Championship later this year.

The 3^rd Annual Great Lakes SUP Classic will again feature a free demo on Friday night, July 20.
